It took a record breaking performance for Auburndale to get this far.
The Apaches set a Division 4 state tournament record by shooting a scorching 64.3 from the floor. They broke a mark that's been around for six years.
Senior Austin hawkins led the Apaches with 20 points, breaking a record in his own part. Hawkins only missed one shot from the field setting another Division 4 record at nearly 91 percent for the game.
The Apaches hope that kind of offensive production carries over to tomorrow when they play Dominican for the state title on Saturday.
"Dominican obviously has two really great players and they're the defending state champs," Auburndale head coach Chadweinfurter said.
"You worry if you haven't been to the state tournament before as a coach or a player, you worry about just being happy to be here. We're going to be ready. Every team wants to play in that last game. On the last Saturday of the year."
Tipoff is scheduled for around 12:45 p.m. It will follow the completion of the Division 5 title game.
