Drivers prepare for another round of winter weather

Here we go again. With more snow on the way, drivers said they're keeping a close eye on the roads.

"I don't want it to keep going, I want to make it home safely," said Jennifer Rueter.

Compared to last year, it's been a fairly active winter and some drivers like Dan Register said they're ready for a change in the forecast.

"It's time for it to start warming up a little bit and probably go away," said  Register.

Although he said he looks forward to winter each year, his calendar is serving as a reminder that spring is almost here.

"Once the big March Madness tournament is over with, it's time for the snow to go away too I think," said Register.

With slick roads possible through Monday morning, officials said it's important to take it slow and remember the basics.

"Speeds slow, increase your following distance and just plan your trip accordingly for what you're going to be doing," said Marathon County Sheriff's Department Lt. Ted Knoeck.

Drivers we talked to said they will.

"Driving to school at about 7:15, so hopefully the roads are nice so we can all get there safely," said Alex Osness.

But they hope warmer weather will be here soon.

"I'm just ready for the snow to go away so we can play some baseball and just get outside more," said Osness.
