As more snow fell across central Wisconsin the sound of snowplows, snow blowers and shovels could be heard.
The Wausau area has seen more than 60 inches of snow this season, double what fell last year. Newsline 9 Meteorologist says, "We have more than 61 inches of snow. But, believe it or not this isn't a record. Back in the winter of 1908-09 more than 103 inches of snow fell.
Marathon County Highway Commissioners Jim Griesbach reminds drivers to use caution on area roads. "When the highway crews are on the roads, be sure to give them plenty of space. Don't follow too closely, so you can stop and avoid accidents, says Griesbach.
Marathon County Highway Department crews hit the roads early this morning and worked throughout the day.
