A two car crash on highway 54 in Waupaca County sent two people to the hospital.
According to the Waupaca County Sheriff's Department, an SUV, operated by a 51-year old woman, was pulling out of a private driveway in the Town of Mukwa when she lost control of her vehicle.
Authorities say the woman was attempting to cross the highway.
According to a press release, a 66- year old male traveling eastbound swerved in an effort to avoid the SUV, but ultimately hit the drivers side door, ejecting the woman from her vehicle.
The female driver was air lifted to a nearby hospital. The male driver was taken by ambulance. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Authorities say weather conditions and icy roads were a factor in the crash. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.
