Train carrying sand derails in Clark County, no one injured

Clark County (WQOW) - -

 The Clark County Sheriff's Department has confirmed there was a train derailment, it happened just east of Merrillan and west of Hatfield. No one was injured.

John Ross, the Clark County Emergency Management Director, told WQOW News 18 the train company is Canadian National.  He say 19 cars, carrying sand, derailed.

It happened Saturday evening.  The sheriff's department says the public is not in any danger. 

The Clark County Emergency Management Department is one scene and working with the railroad company to assess a plan.
