
Big East regular season co-champion Marquette is the No. 3 seed in the East region of the NCAA tournament and will face 14th-seeded Davidson in Lexington in the second round on Thursday.
The Golden Eagles (23-8) tied Georgetown and Louisville for the Big East title after finishing 14-4 in one of the nation's toughest conferences. Marquette, however, fell to Notre Dame in the Big East quarterfinals last week.
This is the second year in a row the Golden Eagles are a third seed in the NCAA. Marquette made it to the regional semifinals last spring before losing to Florida.
Davidson (26-7) is dancing for the second straight season after defending its Southern Conference championship. The Wildcats lost to Louisville 69-62 in the second round of the 2012 NCAA tournament.
