Rural Wautoma man arrested in motel killing

TOWN OF MT. MORRIS (WAOW) - Waushara County Sheriff David Peterson says a 42-year-old rural Wautoma man has been arrested in the March 6 killing of a man found dead at a motel.

Travis Petersen was arrested Monday and was being held in the county jail until charges are filed, the sheriff said.

Robert Kasun, 50, of rural Wautoma was found dead at the Mt. Morris Motel. An autopsy determined he died of "blunt force injuries" to his head and abdomen, the sheriff said in a statement Wednesday.

No other details were immediately released.

The motel's owner has said Kasun's body was discovered by a friend. Kasun had moved to the motel just days before his death.
