In the kitchen at the Sky Club in Plover, you will find Fred Griesbach hard at work. Chef Griesbach has worked here for the past 20 years.
"I started cooking with my mother when I was seven. I learned how to back cookies, pies and cakes. It progressed from there and I helped make meals at our boarding house," explained Fred Griesbach.
After attending culinary school Griesbach began his professional career. He also started serving his community. He founded the Middle Wisconsin Chef's Association. The group holds has raised thousands of dollars to help community non-profits and school food programs. They host fundraising dinners and teaching cooking classes.
Most recently the Griesbach helped raise thousands of dollars for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School Culinary Club to purchase an oven.
"These are our next generation of kids and as chefs we should help out these kids," says Griesbach.
