New pub opens in Weston after a fire stalled construction

A new pub is now open in Weston after a fire stalled construction.

"Brews Brothers" has come a long way in just a few months after its original location was destroyed by fire.

The pub was supposed to open at Stone Ridge Drive in Weston, but after the fire in December gutted the building, owners decided to build it on Barbican Avenue.

The pub opened Wednesday and owners say it was much busier than they expected.

"I don't want to say that the fire was a blessing in disguise but I think the location is better, I think the traffic counts here are much better, and much more visibility," said co-owner Steve Day.

During the grand opening, owners planned on serving 75 burgers, but instead they served 175.

Pub owners say they expect a lot of traffic this weekend.
