Athens Softball: says horse barn is their advantage

The Athens softball team has never had a losing season under head coach Craig Diedrich, and this year they plan on turning that success into a state title.

That begins with practice, but not outside, or in a gym... but in a horse barn.  The Blue Jays are coming off a Marawood North Championship last year, but were knocked out by Spencer at Regional's.
The team has 5 returning starters, forcing  them replace their entire outfield. Even with the adjustments, the team says the there is already a lot of chemistry within the girls.
The Blue Jays have never qualified to the state tournament, and say they plan on getting there one game at a time.
