WAUTOMA (WAOW) - A 42-year-old rural Wautoma man will stand trial in the March 6 killing of a man found dead at a rural motel.
A judge ruled Friday that prosecutors presented enough evidence during a preliminary hearing to justify a trial for Travis Petersen.
Petersen, who was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, is accused of killing Robert Kasun, 50, of rural Wautoma.
Court records say Kasun was found dead of "blunt force injuries" to his head and abdomen at the Mt. Morris Motel in rural Waushara County.
According to online court records, Petersen, who is jailed on a $250,000 cash bond, is to return to court May 1 to enter a plea.
The snowmobile trails opened in Vilas CountyFriday at 5 p.m.
