Gregg Jensen has stepped down as Amherst head boys basketball coach after 29 seasons.
Jensen says that he's resigning because he would like to spend more time with family, and be able to watch his daughter compete in athletics and other school activities.
In nearly 30 years at the helm, Jensen tallied a record of 470 wins and 188 losses and took the Falcons to the program's only two state appearances (1998 & 2013).
The last four seasons Jensen had the privilege of coaching his son, Marcus, and he says that resigning after Marcus' senior year had been in his plans for a few years.
The success of this past season also played a factor in Jensen making the decision to step down.
"It definitely made it a lot easier, to go out on top," says Jensen, "but they're still going to be very competitive from here on out too."
Jensen says that he will continue to stay close to the game of basketball because the sport got him to where he is today.
