Jason Teske resigns as head basketball coach

Wausau East High School announces that Jason Teske, Head Boys Basketball Coach for the past 12 seasons, has resigned his coaching position at the school. Jason will continue to teach at Wausau East.

Since Teske took over the helm at Wausau East, his teams have consistently performed at or near the top of the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Teske directed his teams to four Wisconsin Valley Conference championships as well as two appearances at the WIAA State Tournament in Madison.

Athletic Director Greg Havey says, "Wausau East will certainly miss Coach Teske. He has been a standout coach in the conference for many seasons. The success of the program over his tenure speaks for itself. Through his efforts, Coach Teske has had the opportunity to positively impact hundreds of student-athletes over the years. He is an outstanding teacher and an involved member of our Wausau East faculty. For his tireless efforts on the court and in the classroom, we are very grateful and appreciative."

The search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
