WAUTOMA (WAOW) - The Waushara County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday that a second person has died following the March 30 single-vehicle crash that severely hurt six passengers.
Sheriff David Peterson said Oscar Ordonez Osorio, 25, of Wisconsin Dells, died Monday from injuries suffered in the crash when a sports utility vehicle drifted off southbound Interstate 39 and rolled over in the median. The accident happened about 6 a.m. in the Township of Coloma.
Mayra Isabell Davila, 23, of Marshall, died the day of the crash, Peterson said.
The four men and two women in the 2001 Lincoln SUV were thrown from the vehicle and it's believed none were wearing seat belts, investigators said.
Peterson said Tuesday that a 22-year-old Wisconsin Dells man remained hospitalized in critical condition.
The occupants in the SUV, all from southern Wisconsin, ranged in age from 18 to 25.
Emergency crews reported smelling alcohol in treating the injured, investigators said.
