SHAWANO (WAOW) - The Shawano Police Department says a man who robbed a credit union of a "large sum of money" was quickly captured because an employee at another store he failed to rob minutes earlier identified him.
Police said Darrin Church, 47, was arrested without incident Monday afternoon and the stolen money was recovered.
According to police, officers were called to the Cash Tyme Store in Shawano at 3:38 p.m. Monday after a man came in and demanded money.
"The employee did not comply and the subject left the store on foot," police said in a statement Tuesday. "One of the employees identified the subject."
A few minutes later, police were called to Co-Vantage Credit Union where a male matching the earlier description gave a note to a teller demanding money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Church was quickly located and arrested without incident, police said.
According to online court records, no charges had been filed Tuesday.
