A man Wausau police identify as a person of interest in a woman's disappearance appeared Friday in court in an unrelated case.
As part of an agreement with prosecutors, 33-year-old Kristopher Torgerson pleaded no contest in Marathon County court to a charge of battery and guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
Torgerson will return to court in June for sentencing on Friday's plea.
Last August Wausau police said they considered Torgerson a person of interest in the disappearance of Stephanie Low. Low went missing from her Wausau apartment more than two years ago.
Torgerson's attorney had no comment on Friday's court appearance or the missing persons investigation.
On Friday Wausau police told us they still consider Torgerson a person of interest in the missing persons case. They also report he's not considered a suspect and has not been charged with a crime in connection with Low's disappearance.
