Grambling State says student shot in leg on campus

GRAMBLING, La. (AP) -- A Grambling State University spokesman says three people have been shot during a fight on campus with one student being taken to the hospital with a leg wound.

Will Sutton says two others who were shot went to the hospital some other way. He did not give the students' names but said they are from the New Orleans area.

Grambling campus police are investigating. Sutton says no one is in custody and that he isn't sure if police have a suspect or are even looking for one.

The fight occurred about 7:14 p.m. Monday outside Douglass Hall, a dormitory. Sutton says none of the three shot have life-threatening injuries.

Grambling State is located in northeastern Louisiana. Its website says it has an enrollment of about 5,300 students.
