Marathon County jail administrator resigns

Marathon County Jail Administrator Bob Dickman has resigned.

According to Marathon County Administrator Brad Karger, Dickman put in his resignation effective 5 p.m. Wednesday.

It is unclear why he resigned.

This comes after authorities say an inmate attacked two corrections officers last month. Officer Julie Christensen, 36, remains in critical condition due to injuries suffered in the attack.

Since the attack, questions have been raised about the safety of the Marathon County jail. A special task force comprised of community members was created to take a look at jail security and make recommendations for changes.

We tried contacting Bob Dickman for comment, but our calls were not immediately returned.
