US to share security information with Brazil

BRASILIA, Brazil (AP) -

The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations says the United States is offering to share with Brazil security lessons that emerge from investigations into the Boston Marathon bombing.

Susan Rice's comments come as Brazil prepares to host soccer's Confederations Cup in June; World Youth Day, which Pope Francis is scheduled to attend, in July; the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics.

Rice said Wednesday at a press conference in Brasilia that "as we discover more and reinforce our own ability to prevent and respond to such incidents we will want to share whatever lessons we learn with partners such as Brazil and elsewhere around the world that have a shared interest in our collective best efforts to ensure the security of high profile events of all sorts."
