A rummage sale set up to benefit a boy battling cancer and his family is off to a promising start. People lined up outside the tent sale on Augustine Avenue in Weston before it opened this morning.
Organizer Tracy Bauer set up the sale to raise money for Treyden Kurtzweil and his family. The Stratford baby is battling cancer. Bauer says all money raised during the sale will go to the Kurtzweil's.
Bauer says she hoped to raise $600 during the three-day sale. As of noon Thursday, she says they have already surpassed that with a total of $800, so far.
The sale runs Thursday-Saturday. The hours are 8 in the morning until 6 in the evening.
Donations are being accepted. Bauer says hey do not need any more clothing at this time.
The sale includes a wide range of clothing, house wares, toys, furniture, as well as lunch and bake sale items.
