Walker announces opening of office in China

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker says a new office opened in China will strengthen Wisconsin's relationship with the country and provide businesses from the state with the resources and assistance they need to grow.
Walker announced the opening of the Wisconsin Center China on Thursday as part of his 10-day Chinese trade mission.
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. will contract with trade representatives who are marketing and business consultants to do the work out of the center.
Walker also says that four trade agreements have been signed.
Shanghai Dairy Group agreed to purchase animal feed products from Badger State Ethanol and from the state and also receive training from the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Babcock Institute.
Miller Electric out of Appleton also signed a deal to sell welding systems to a Chinese company.
