Police follow new lead in search for Kira Trevino

St. Paul, MN (WAOW) -

Police are following a new lead in the search for a missing DC Everest graduate.

According to KSTP-TV, St. Paul Police are following up on a tip Thursday in the search for the body of Kira Trevino.

Trevino has been missing since February. Her husband, Jeffery Trevino, is charged with second degree murder. He maintains his innocence.

St. Paul Police tells KSTP-TV that people are searching the water near the Wakota Bridge in Minnesota. The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office tells KSTP-TV that Ramsey County and Dakota County water patrol are assisting St. Paul in their search.

Jeffery Trevino's trial is scheduled to late May.
