Update: Officials use sonar equipment to search Lincoln County pond

The Marathon County Dive Team and Lincoln County Sheriff's Department searched a pond behind the Corning Volunteer Fire Department.

There were at least half a dozen law enforcement officials on the scene Wednesday morning, using a boat to search the water.

A deputy tells us crews used sonar equipment in the search.

Officials are not saying what they're looking for or why they are at this specific location.

The pond is fairly close to the home of 48-year-old missing woman Anita Bucki.

Officials say she went missing last Friday morning, leaving all of her belongings behind.

Authorities say her husband, Mark Bucki reported her disappearance to Lincoln County officials later that evening.

Sheriff's officials said Monday that Mark Bucki was not a suspect in this case.

Lincoln County officials say they will be releasing more information about their investigation today.

Police continued Wednesday searching the Bucki home, a property located along a dirt road surrounded by farm land in rural Merrill.

Officers could be seen moving around in the back yard.

Again, authorities refuse to say why they began searching the pond.
