Wautoma man pleads not guilty in motel killing

WAUTOMA (WAOW) - A 42-year-old Wautoma man accused of killing a man found dead at a rural motel pleaded not guilty Wednesday to first-degree intentional homicide.

Travis Peterson is accused of killing Robert Kasun, 50, of rural Wautoma on March 6, according to the criminal complaint.

Court records say Kasum was found dead of "blunt force injuries" to his head and abdomen at the Mt. Morris Motel in rural Waushara County.

No trial date was immediately set.

Petersen, who is jailed on a $250,000 cash bond, is to return to court June 19 for a status conference.
