Marshfield Clinic reveals new mobile medical unit

The Marshfield Clinic is treating patients in a new way.

Clinic officials revealed their new mobile medical unit Wednesday afternoon.

The mobile unit travels around to local area businesses to offer a variety of medical services including lab and blood work, as well as annual exams.

Clinic leaders say the unit will reach up to as many as 10,000 more people per year.

"It's able to bring mammography and primary care services to businesses and industry and into rural Wisconsin where a lot of patients need this service and are unable to come to one of our fixed sites," said Gene Santilli, Marshfield Clinic administrative director.

This is the third mobile unit for the Marshfield Clinic.

Coordinators tell Newsline 9 that the project was paid for by donations.
