Victims of Wis. triple homicide had head injuries

A criminal complaint says the victims of a triple homicide at a Lafayette County farmhouse last month were killed by blunt-force injuries to the head.

The complaint filed Tuesday charges 31-year-old Jaren Michael Kuester with three counts of first-degree intentional homicide. He's accused of killing three people in the Town of Wiota late last month.

The victims were 70-year-old Gary Thoreson; his 66-year-old wife, Chloe Thoreson; and his 76-year-old brother, Dean Thoreson.

The complaint says the two men died of multiple blunt-force injuries to the head and neck. It says Chloe Thoreson died of head trauma as well as multiple stab wounds.

The complaint says Kuester acknowledged killing all three with a fireplace poker.

A message left with Kuester's public defender Tuesday was not immediately returned.
