17 year soccer coaching veteran and now Badgers assistant Stan Anderson has trained some of the best college and pro goalkeepers in the country. The Stan Anderson camp shutout goalkeeper clinic has 90 goalkeepers of all ages being exposed to highest level of goalkeeping training.
Anderson says he loves passing down knowledge, "The old rooster crows, the young rooster learns, which I always say I learned from people, so I want to pass on and hand off that knowledge to these guys. The benefit is they enjoy the position and some of them, dare to dream, and are able to realize that dream."
For young and dedicated goalkeepers, the roads to their college careers start here. Stan Anderson dedicates time and energy to developing goalkeepers that he may one day actually have to coach against. He explains, "I can't tell you how many opponents have come to my camp. It's a bit of a brotherhood. At the end of that game you go up, you say hello, reminisce a little bit, and hope that you didn't teach them too well."
Even though it's his first time at a camp shutout clinic, 9 year old, Kai Littaritz knows he's getting the best goalkeeper training there is to offer.
"I learned news skills and improved good skills that I knew already that I now feel got better. When we play a game or have practices I'll use them and then it'll be easy for me."
