Crandon man convicted in hit-and-run death

A Crandon man charged with a hit-and-run death on New Year's Day 2012 has been found guilty on all but one count, according to online court records.

Court records show Norbert Polar, 46, was found guilty on five counts including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, operating while suspended, and fifth offense OWI.

He was found not guilty of hit and run involving death, according to online court records.

Investigators say Polar drove into 41-year-old Klynt Decorah while he was walking home. This happened along Highway 55 in the Town of Nashville.

Polar left the scene but was later arrested.

He faces a maximum sentence of nearly 67 years in prison.
