Rodgers helps support childhood cancer charity

Organizers of a childhood cancer charity say Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has committed to them like few other athletes have.

Rodgers has helped the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer Inc., or the MACC Fund, generate $725,000 in net proceeds since 2010. A fundraising dinner Tuesday is expected to increase the total to well over $1 million.

MACC Fund president and co-founder Jon McGlocklin says sports connections have always given them an edge but no one has committed to the level of Rodgers.

Rodgers makes visits to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and helps raise money through appearances and events.

Rodgers tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ( his success has given him an opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.
