New details in Kira Trevino case

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- More details have emerged in the investigation into the killing of Kira Steger Trevino indicating she was thinking about ending her marriage.

An updated criminal complaint filed Tuesday says investigators found divorce papers in her purse, which was discovered in her car in a Mall of America parking lot.

It also says the couple had given notice to give up their rented St. Paul home and that Steger was looking for her own apartment.

And it says she texted a man she'd been romantically linked to on Feb. 21, the night she was last seen alive.

Jeffery Trevino has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of his wife, whose body was pulled from the Mississippi River in St. Paul last Wednesday. His trial has been delayed to July 22.
