Medford, Lakeland Battle on Brain Cance Awareness Night

On brain cancer awareness night in Medford to raise money for those battling the disease in the area, both Medford and Lakeland wore customized jerseys for the game. In the top of the 6th Medford was up 5-4. But with Lakeland threatening, Alan Schumacher got out of the jam with a huge strikeout. Same score in the bottom of the 6th, Harrison Davis rips a liner up the middle, and it got past the defense in center allowing Cole Loertscher to score. That blunder turned in to an inside the parker; as Davis comes around to score making it 7-4. Medford would go on to win by that score. They would also take game 2, 11-0.

Wausau West, D.C. Everest battle in WVC Matchup

After the Evergreens won the first game, they'd allow seven runs in the second inning of game two. In the fourth, Chris Clementi stole second, then Tanner Gould gets a hit that drives Clementi to third. Then Clementi would score thanks to a crack of the bat from John Metzinger. And before the inning was over, Andrew Block would hit a bouncer to the infield, but Everest couldn't make the play to force the third out, which would bring Gould home to take a 9-3 lead. The Evergreens made a comeback, but West would win 10-9.

Gresham would have needed a miracle in the 7th, and they would not get it, when Carissa Wright got Kimmie Petrich to ground out to end the game as Rosholt wins 11-3. They will face Tigerton next Tuesday.
