Hundreds ride motorcycles in central Wisconsin for charity
WAUSAU (WAOW) -
Motorcycles rumbled through central Wisconsin Saturday for the 10th annual Wausau Fire Charity Ride.
Organizers said about 500 riders took part in the nearly 200 mile ride. It benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association and other local charities.
Firefighters said the event helps to connect the community and raise awareness to a growing medical issue.
"It's an excellent feeling to be part of such an event, to raise money for the community, knowing that we're all doing good and to see the smile on these kids' faces, after they see us do what we can for them," said Wausau Firefighter, Andy Adrian.
Organizers said they hope to raise about $20,000 dollars with this weekend's ride.
