UPDATE: Rhinelander man dies after Lincoln Co. ATV crash

Lincoln County Sheriff's officials say a 49-year-old Rhinelander man died after an ATV crash in the Township of Harrison Saturday evening.

Officials say Randy J. Romenesko was traveling eastbound on an ATV trail east of County Road B, when he lost control and crashed into a tree.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department says Romenesko was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and pronounced dead.

Authorities say he was wearing a helmet, but it was not properly secured.

Lincoln County Sheriff's officials say speed appears to be the main cause of the crash.

They also say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

Officials from the Town of Russell Fire Department, Merrill EMS and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department responded to the crash.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department says the investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
