Armed robbers get $1,000 in pizza heist

SCHOFIELD (WAOW) - Two masked men armed with pistols robbed Little Caesars Pizza in Schofield of about $1,000 in cash, authorities said Tuesday.

Capt. Clayton Schulz of the Everest Metro Police Department said the men entered the store about 10 p.m. Monday, displayed handguns, ordered one of the two female workers who were closing the store to the ground and dashed out the back door with the money.

The men wore scarf-like cloths that covered the lower parts of their faces, Schulz said.

"We believe they fled on foot," Schulz said. "We are trying to retrieve some surveillance video."

No arrests have been made and no one was hurt, he said.

Anthony Michanowicz, the manager of store, said the robbers, dressed mostly in black, stole "a little over $1,000."

His workers indicated the robbery took about five minutes, Michanowicz said.

"They are a little stirred up," he said. "They said it happened real fast."
