High school soccer players raise money for cancer research

A soccer game Tuesday focused on the fight against cancer.

Girls soccer players from Wausau West took on D.C. Everest as part of the "Chicks that Kick" soccer games.

During the game the teams raised money to support the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life by selling special jerseys.

"We are trying to increase the awareness and prevention of cancer in our community, so this was a great way to get the word out," said organizer Jill Depke.

The last "Chicks that Kick" game will take place at D.C. Everest on May 23.
