Milwaukee man claims $1M Powerball prize

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A Milwaukee man has claimed a $1 million prize from Saturday's record $590.5 million Powerball jackpot drawing.

Jason Peck is 1 of 2 Wisconsin $1 million winners from Saturday's drawing. He is the first to claim his prize.

Peck brought his $1 million winning ticket to the Wisconsin Lottery's Madison headquarters Tuesday. After taxes he will receive a lump sum payment of $672,500.

He bought his ticket just before the close of sales Saturday night at a Pick 'N Save in Milwaukee. Peck told lottery staff he often selects his own numbers, but bought a quick pick ticket on a whim.

For selling Peck's winning ticket, Pick 'N Save earns a $20,000 commission.

A $1 million ticket also was sold in Antigo but that prize has not yet been claimed.
