Nursing home residents bust a move before prom

Residents at a nursing home in Wausau are busting a move to get ready for prom.

It's the 6th annual senior prom week at Mount View Care Center. This year's theme, "Love Potion No. 9."

It's been a week full of prom activities. On Wednesday's agenda, dancing lessons.

About 40 residents got the opportunity to learn dances like the Tango and Fox Trot.

Organizers say prom week is always a fun time for all.

"This is an event that we decided to do because a lot of people don't have the opportunity because of their age or what not so it's just another reason that they should continue to live a high quality life and to them this is what living high quality means," said Cagney Martin, an Activity Therapist at Mount View Care Center.

The senior prom is coming up Friday at the nursing home. Organizers say about 100 residents will be at the dance.
