Charges have been filed in a cold case murder in Wisconsin Rapids.
Wood County authorities say Joseph Reinwand faces a charge of first degree intentional homicide in the murder of Dale Meister.
The county medical examiner reports Meister was shot three times in his home in Wisconsin Rapids.
Investigators say new information came to light after a court hearing with Reinwand's former prison cellmate. According to court documents, the cellmate told authorities Reinwand confessed to the murder and even reenacted it.
At that time, investigators called Reinwand a person of interest in the murder, and he was arrested on unrelated charges.
Wood County officials say Reinwand is currently behind bars at the Stanley Correctional Institution in an unrelated case.
Reinwand is scheduled to make his first court appearance in this case on June 19. Newsline 9 was not successful in reaching Reinwand's attorney.
