WAUSAU (WAOW) -

Prom was in the air at Mount View Care Center in Wausau Friday.

For a lot of the residents this day brought back memories, but for one in particular it was a completely new experience.

Dress, hair in place, and finally the last touch.

"Oh no I didn't expect anything like this."

At 85 years young Jean Baron got the chance to go to prom, but get this, it was her very first time.

"I never went to a prom because we didn't have any money when I graduated, because the class wasn't big enough we just had a dinner at a fancy restaurant in Chicago," said Jean.

But today that all changed.

Mount view Care Center in Wausau held it's 6th annual senior prom. This year's theme "Love Potion No. 9."

"I never thought this old lady would go in some beautiful dress and pampered and have everybody look after me," said Jean.

One of those people, her daughter.

Janice, Nurse Manager at Mount View, and also her date.

"As she's aging her health is changing and these times that we have together are very special," said Janice Dombrowsky, Jean's daughter.

A life changing experience for them both.

It seems like just yesterday Jean was helping Janice get ready for prom, but Friday the roles were reversed.

"She has her life back, she has an important part of her life back," said Janice.

A life that's not only filled with new dance moves, but also some humor.

"I haven't been in heels for ages," said Jean.

"You can't put a price on anything like this," said Janice.

A priceless experience that's bringing a lot of emotion.

"I feel like I'm on cloud 10 or 20," said Janice.

As Jean crosses "prom" off her check list.

Both Janice and Jean are planning on attending next year's prom together.
