Wacky weather on Memorial Day

The weather is a little cold and gloomy in North Central Wisconsin, but other parts of the country have been experiencing even more unusual weather this Memorial Day weekend.
Iowa has seen severe flooding. A person in Iowa said, "it's really bad. I've never seen it this bad." South Texas has experienced more extreme flooding, with flash floods that have claimed at least three lives.
The disbelief echoed in parts of New England on this unofficial start of summer. Instead of breaking out the bathing suits, people are bundling up. More than three feet of snow now blankets White Face Mountain in upstate New York. Parts of New Hampshire are also covered in snow.
Oklahoma is bracing for more severe weather. Strong thunderstorms could threaten the areas hit hard by last week's deadly tornadoes. Flooding could make this a long, messy week in the northern and central plains.
Although the weather is unusual, meteorologists aren't surprised. One explains, "When you think of spring, you think of extreme weather. We had extreme weather last spring. It was hot. This spring it's been cool and in Central Planes it's been wet."
