MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker has reappointed Milwaukee city official Preston Cole to the board that sets policy for the state Department of Natural Resources.
Cole was originally appointed to a six-year term by Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle in 2007. His term was set to expire this month. But Walker, a Republican, said Tuesday he reappointed Cole because he has tremendous respect for the work Cole has done.
The 51-year-old Cole is also the operations director of Milwaukee's Department of Public Works.
The seven-person Natural Resources Board meets 10 times per year to set policy on issues ranging from hunting and recreation to forest management.
