RHINELANDER (WAOW) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Department says a bomb squad was called to a rural home and determined a suspected device was not an explosive.
Sheriff Grady Hartman said the incident Tuesday began with a complaint that a home about 20 miles northeast of Rhinelander in the Town of Piehl had a suspected "improvised explosive device."
The Marathon/Oneida County Bomb Squad determined the device was inert, the sheriff said in a statement.
"A small amount of fireworks was also found in the residence and will be taken for safe disposal," Hartman said.
