Rain suspended play at the opening games of both the Wisconsin Woodchucks and the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.
The Woodchucks were up 1-0 after three innings when the tarp was pulled onto the field. Tyler Streib scored the go-ahead run when Garrett Rucker was caught in a pickle between first and second. Streib beat the throw at the plate after the Bullfrogs defense was distracted.
The rain delay lasted roughly 90 minutes before officials decided to postpone the game, which will resume as part of a doubleheader on June 11.
In Wisconsin Rapids, Jeremy Montalbano addeda two-run home run in the bottom of the second-inning that sailed overthe head of Chinooks centerfielder, Ryan Solberg, but a big six-runfirst inning by the Lakeshore Chinooks gave them an early 6-0 lead.The game was postponed after a 30-minute rain delay that began at7:53 p.m. (CST), and occurred just as the Rafters bats began tospark. The two teams will start in the top of the third with thescore at 6-2 on June 8th as part of a doubleheader.
