Drivers may notice some wires running
across the roads. Transportation leaders tell Newsline 9 they're used
to keep track of traffic patterns.
Officials tell Newsline 9 data will be gathered for
a number of different reasons, including planning for future

in the amount of traffic, local planners are interested in that
information, so there's a variety of users for that data," said
Wisconsin DOT Planning Supervisor Paul Weigandt.
Transportation officials said the wires
are in place for about 48-hours at a time.
