MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin wildlife officials say spring turkey hunters killed fewer birds this year.
The Department of Natural Resources says hunters killed 37,804 turkeys, down 11% from 2012.
DNR officials blamed poor hunting conditions, with unseasonably cold weather that persisted through May, deep snow in the north and rain, snow and wind in the south.

More light snow on the way, and a bit of a warming trend too.
