Marijuana caramel corn leads to student's arrest

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- An 18-year-old student at a Macomb County high school has been arrested after police found marijuana caramel corn labeled "Smores," "Fruity Treat" and "Loopy Treat" in a backpack.
The Macomb Daily in Mount Clemens reports Thursday that the Macomb Dakota student is expected to be charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
A teacher at the school in Macomb Township, northeast of Detroit, confiscated caramel corn Tuesday from students because it smelled like marijuana.
The 18-year-old produced a medical marijuana card for school officials and told them the caramel corn was "weed edibles."
Police say the student said he bought the items for $4 per bag from a medical marijuana dispensary and that he sold it to other students.
