WAUSAU (WAOW) -
A Rib Mountain winery makes plans to move to downtown Wausau.
Lil' Ole Winemakers Shoppe hopes to open its doors in early August.
Owner Susan Larson says, they are excited to have more space and be close to many events taking place in the downtown area.
"The 400 Block and The Grand, Wausau really has a lot of activities taking place and we want to be a part of it. Plus, our new location on Jefferson Street will be larger. Wineries are destinations. We can cater to buses that bring in tours and smaller private wine tasting parties," says Larson.
The winery sells supplies to make wines and offers gourmet foods.
Outdoor parties are planned in a fenced patio at the new location.
A permit is needed from the Wausau City Council before outdoor events can be held. A committee has given its preliminary approval and a final vote takes place June 25.
