The 2013 Relay For Life of Wausau got underway Friday evening.
The event brings the community together to celebrate victories against cancer. People also remember those who've lost their fight. They also support people still fighting the disease.
The annual event started Friday evening at John Muir Middle School. It raises money for the American Cancer Society.
"Cancer doesn't sleep, and when we're on the track, we aren't sleeping," said Kris Bundy, American Cancer Society Volunteer. "We're letting everybody know that while cancer is not sleeping, we're fighting for them and we're helping with the cause"
