Four people taken to hospital after car and ambulance crash in Clark Co.
CLARK COUNTY (WAOW) -
Clark County sheriff's officials say four people were taken to the hospital after an ambulance was hit by a car north of Neillsville.
Police say the ambulance was hit just before 4:00 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of County Highway H and State Highway 73.
Once police arrived, they say they found a Greenwood ambulance on its side and a car nearby with significant damage.
According to a press release, a preliminary investigation shows the car had been traveling on CTH H when the driver, Kevin Colby, 35, went through the stop sign at STH 73. Authorities say the car then hit the right rear corner of the ambulance.
Police say two EMTs in the back of the ambulance received minor injuries. They say the driver of the ambulance was not hurt. The two EMTs in the back of the ambulance, along with the driver of the car and a passenger, were taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities say all injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.
Investigators say Colby, who is from Loyal, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
