Wausau Auto Fest brings in hundreds

Car enthusiasts from across the state gathered in Wausau this weekend for the annual Wausau Auto Fest.

For the past 44 years the Wausau Antique Club hosted the event, but this year it's under new direction. Last year the Wausau Antique Club disbanded but didn't want the event to as well. So, as it celebrates its 45th anniversary, Wausau Auto Fest is now under the direction of the non-profit group, Friends of the Q & Z Expo Center. Organizers say it's a great way for people to come together and share their passions for cars.

"It's a lot of fun. All the people get to talk, we all have the same interests, we all like the same stuff so that definitely helps, it's just a good time. It's better than working any day, right?" Event organizer Andy Olson said.

In the past, the car show was only a one-day event. But this year it ran all weekend long, offering music, food, and a chance to shop at booths featuring local vendors.
